Hydration, made simple
In a climate where summer temperatures pass 45°C, drinking enough water is part of looking after yourself. Here are some simple habits for every age and every kind of day.

Six simple habits
Start with a glass
Drink a glass of water when you wake up, before your first coffee.
Keep a bottle close
A 500 ml bottle on your desk or in your bag makes sipping easy all day.
Drink before you're thirsty
By the time you feel thirsty, your body is already asking for more.
Mind the heat
Outdoors, in the car or at the beach, drink more often in the summer months.
Eat your water
Cucumber, watermelon, oranges and laban all add to your daily intake.
Check the colour
Pale yellow is a good sign. Darker means it's time for another glass.
Hydration for every part of life
At school
Pack a named bottle with every school bag and encourage sips at every break.
At work
Air-conditioning dries the air. A dispenser nearby makes it easy to keep refilling.
On site
Drink small amounts often, rest in the shade, and follow the UAE midday break rules in summer.
Between iftar & suhoor
Spread your water through the evening rather than drinking it all at once.
This is general information, not medical advice. If you have a health condition, ask your doctor how much fluid is right for you.
